Summary |
At the end of the 17th century a headstrong, impoverished young society woman arrives in Boston where she weds an aging doctor. When she is swept into a tempestuous affair with the local Reverend, she ends up bearing a child out of wedlock. Because of her misdeed, she is forced to wear a scarlet letter "A" to bear her shame. |
